These are the best and enabled the beginners to stretch their finger muscles and a great picking exercise.
It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an expert, The Spider Exercises could be used to warm up before practising guitar.
The amazing spider exercises wont give you an easy start, but continuous practice will pay off.
How to practice
The key is to start real slow. You could use a metronome and keep it to 50 bpm or watch the second hand if that is easy. Repeat the exercise until it feels comfortable. Increase the speed of the metronome to 90 and add 10 when you feel comfortable in the new speed. Let me reiterate it, begin real slowly and gradually increase the tempo of the metronome.
The quality of the exercise must be monitored. Make sure all the notes sound clean and clear. I will talk about the picking techniques in in a different post but for now, star with down strokes.
Here’s the left/right hand fingering position:
1 = index finger
2 = middle finger
3 = ring finger
4 = pinky
Use the exercise to warm up and make it a regular part of your guitar workout.
